HOLIDAY FEVER

Allow NYC native, Stephen Powers, to remind you what's important this holiday season. And, if you are not familiar with Mr. Powers, I highly recommend Beautiful Losers, a graffiti documentary featuring his work, released in 2008.

THE GREATEST THANKSGIVING HORROR MOVIE THAT NEVER HAPPENED

Ridiculosly campy fake trailers appeared during the intermission of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's 2007 double feature, Grindhouse. One of them (Machete) ended up becoming a full fledged movie. But the rest, however, live on in 'what if' infamy. As we approach Thanksgiving and give thanks for the people and things we have in our lives, lets pray for that one day Eli Roth's fake horror film trailer, Thanksgiving, gets the full feature treatment. Dream on.

Note: If you are bothered by decapitations, nudity, fake blood and other horror movie staples, you should probably not watch the video

KANYE'S DARK TWISTED SAMPLES

Wondering where those dope samples on Kanye's newly released epic, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, originated? Hear them below. Chaoticjesus was pretty quick on the trigger to track down the original pieces that make up the sounds of this year's best Hip Hop album. Go get it. Via RadioPlanet.tv

GIVE THANKS FOR JR

Anonymous street artist photographer and 2011 TED prize recipient, JR, has documented his 28MM project showcasing the women of war torn Africa. It's a searing trailer and a film that will definitely provoke strong emotions for a part of the world that needs more of our attention. via: TED

FITTINGLY

The Flaming Lips performance on Yo Gabba Gabba made me realize they'd make a great kids album. Wayne Coyne's gives off a good Alice in Wonderland sugar coated in darkness vibe. The song is "I can be a frog,"  off their most recent effort, Embryonic. Wonder how the kids enjoyed this. Man, I wish bands like that were on my programs growing up. Trippy. Via: Pitchfork

OK GO'S EDIBLE STOP MOTION MUSIC VIDEO

For years now, people have made claims of figures appearing in their toast. Some have even sold decently on Ebay. From Christ to the Virgin Mary to Elvis, the toaster oven has purportedly created them all. Mix toast images with stop-motion and 2,430 pieces of toast, and you have this new music video masterpiece for 'Last Leaf' by OK GO—and a reason to take their music seriously for other reasons than cleverly sweet videos..although we'll take that as long as they can keep cranking it. COD: BLACK OPS FEEDS YOUR INNER SOLDIER

Saw the abbreviated version of this great piece of advertising for Call of Duty: Black Ops during MNF last night. The full version is below. It's amazing what simple and great thinking can create. Of course, it doesn't hurt when you have one of the best ad agencies, Chiat, at the helm. Via: Brands Are Opinions
