BROOKLYN'S FIGHT AGAINST GENTRIFICATION

Street artist Specter takes a traditional advertising route, the city billboard, and uses it as a shock and awe campaign to remind the yuppies that, well, they're gentrification is not welcome in Brooklyn, NY.

In a city where money is power, and property is more precious than blood diamonds, Specter may be fighting a losing battle, but at least he's not letting Jay-Z's home turf go down like a failed drug deal. Exhibit opens February 4th, 2010 and runs through May 10th at MoCADA @
80 Hanson Place
