HYENAS & OTHER MEN

This photographer's series is both raw and Beautiful. It is of the 'Guadawan Kura' (Hyena Handlers from Hausa), a group of traveling performers who entertain crowds with their animals to sell traditional medicine. Pieter Hugo spent eight years traveling with them to capture this hauntingly beautiful images. In this series the people in the pictures seem to carry as much burden of entrapment and loneliness as their animals do. www.pieterhugo.com
