In true poetic fashion, Banksy updated his website the other day with just one image of a silhouetted street artist throwing up flowers sprouting out of a wall. Nothing else remains on his site but the promise of October 2013, the month Banksy will reappear.
Rumors are he's living in L.A. with a possible outdoor show in the works to play off his 'Better Out Than In' declaration. Could this finally be his response to all the recent opportunists removing his street art in L.A. and London and selling them for huge money in private auction—perhaps, he'll center the show around "art for the people, not for the galleries"? We'll just have to wait until next week to see what the mystery man has planned. Check back for more new Banksy images during October as they appear, whereever that may end up. via Banksy

ADULT SWIM INTERVIEWS BANKSY (NEW)
Hear Banksy's thoughts on Yoplait, One Direction, Ice Cream, The View, Garbage Pail Kids, Mr Brainwash, KAWS and more. The street art genius is funnier than ever, if this is actually him, that is. That's up for date. But either way, thank you Adult Swim for putting this together.

INSTANT CLASSIC: BANKSY ROLLER ZORRO BRONZE SCULPTURE
Banksy puts his street art spin on the classic Zorro image. Who knew Zorro was such a painting badass? The Roller Zorro bronze statue of undetermined size is from an edition of 12, released this year.
Update (6/19/2012): All signs are pointing to one word on this one: FAKE! Should have been more suspect when the details on this statue were pretty scant. Proof that this doesn't exist is evidenced by the behind photo added to 'BackerProjects' flckr page earlier today. And yes, we wish this was real, too.

PROMETHEUS CUT PAPER TRAILER
A palm d'or or whatever it's called goes to Youtuber TheReceptionist, who recreated the Prometheus trailer shot for shot by way of cut paper stop animation. Fucking brilliant. Enjoy the movie this Friday.

SITTING ON A FULLY LOADED SHOTGUN SHELL CHAIR
Nothing about a fully loaded shotgun shell chair sounds safe. But if you're in the market, Rehhab has brought the vision of a fully functioning chair made from 388 live 12 gauge shotgun shells. Hey, at the very least, you'll be fully stocked for the Zombie Apocalypse. via Design You Trust
KATE UPTON: TOO HOT FOR YOUTUBE?
Every guy's love for Sports Illustrated cover girl Kate Upton was on full display today. Youtube apparently couldn't handle the heat.
Luckily, there's Vevo. And Thankfully, Kate Upton is still doing the Cat Daddy in her very beautiful bikini. God bless America and Terry vision. via Terry's Diary

1,000 SPACE INVADERS SET FOR PARIS INVASION
Space Invader is a sneaky dude. This video for his latest exhibition (where 1,000 pieces will be on display) is hilarious in its law skirting, in-your-face, "try again next time" brevity. Great teaser and footage of the mysterious Invader at work. The music is a killer and sinister compliment. If you know the artist who created the music, please leave a comment.

PLAY IN SLINKACHU'S 'CONCRETE OCEAN'
Slinkachu keeps it simple. He paints little tiny figures, places them in precarious situations within urban environments and then snaps a picture. If you're lucky enough to spot one in its natural street habitat, you've scored one for serendipity.
Concrete Ocean is Slinkachu's latest exhibit currently on display at Andipa Gallery in London. Check it out. Photos were snapped by the good people over at Arrested Motion. You can also watch a sweet video that takes you behind the scenes of Concrete Ocean. I can't embed it, but you can view it over at Don't Panic. Via: Arrested Motion by way of MashKulture

FISH BOOTH: FRESH USE OF A USELESS OBJECT
Who's used a phone booth recently? I can't think of the last time I stepped into one (on purpose). Thanks to lighting designer Benoit Deseille and artist Benedetto Bufalino, the phone booth has a new life.
Taken to task to contribute to the annual Festival of Lights in Lyon, France, Benoit and Benedetto have transformed an unused phone booth into a living aquarium. The juxtaposition and intrigue this simple installation has generated gives new reason to re-examine modern day uses of abandoned and obsolete structures such as the lonely phone booth. With the right city works and community involvement, a world with street aquariums has an exciting future. Via: Good
The artists inspiration explained:
With the advent of the mobile telephone, telephone booths lie unused.
We rediscover this glass cage transformed into an aquarium, full of
exotically colored fish; an invitation to escape and travel.
