JACK WHITE HAS A NEW MUSE

Jack White is alive and well as drummer and co-vocalist of The Dead Weather. On their follow up to the surprising debut, Horehound, comes Sea Of Cowards, quite possibly Jack White's best album since The White Stripes put out 'Elephant' in 2003 and definitely will wind up on those Top Ten lists for 2010.

Jack has found the yin to his yang in Alison Mosshart . They compliment each other so perfectly, sometimes you can't tell their voices apart. The perfect ending to this year would of course be a new White Stripes album, but I think The Dead Weather are doing a fine job of tiding me over.

Current track getting heavy rotation over here, "I'm Mad." Enjoy your Friday with this one and a cold beverage my friends!

MGMT CHANNELS THEIR INNER PSYCHADELIC BRIAN WILSON

Forget what you want to hear from MGMT. If Beck did another 'Loser,' would we have Odelay? In a common case of give them what they want, MGMT's sophomore effort, Congratulations, was conceived under ridiculous pressure to repeat the club grooves people were busting out in all sorts of settings... Graduations, retirements, bar mitzvahs, procreation.
You can hear that pressure under drug induced melodies that are reminiscent of the experimental albums that were considered departures for such bands as The Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys, etc.
Bottom line, this album will grow on you like poison ivy. It will haunt you and calm you. Here's my favorite track so far, 'I Found a Whistle.'
