Damien Hirst is the art world's renaissance man. In his years, he has brought us some of the most irreverent modern art. From the shark to the dots to the diamond encrusted skull, the man finds art in the most surreal of places. And this year, he's stepping back and bringing his art to a whole different level. One that defines the greatness and simplicity art can achieve. Would this be appealing if it was from some nobody? Perhaps, but unlikely. Either way, it makes a nice autograph. And hell, it's free. Well done, Mr. Hirst. To the 365 lucky souls who will be the recipients of his daily art project, cheers.

According to Nielsen, we're a lot more generous than the media would like to believe. Based on a poll of average internet users  - those willing to pay for various media consumption they already get for free - people are actually quite content if the cost came right out of their pocketbooks.
