BAST X PAUL INSECT MAKE AMAZING, AMAZING TIME LAPSE VIDEO TOGETHER

Two of my personal favorites, BAST and Paul Insect, have made my street art heart very happy with their ongoing collaboration on BAST's home turf of NYC. Now they've made this glorious time lapse, featuring epic new work in abandoned and forgotten places. Enjoy.

BANKSY TAKES ANOTHER BITE OUT OF THE BIG APPLE

Banksy's tagging spree makes its way back to NYC, a familiar playground for Mr.Banksy. So it's no surprise that he brought his best work since he started this cross-country North America tag-a-thon. His 'heart doctor' makes a reappearance, first appearing in SF. As long as there are walls, I'm sure Banksy will find a way to cover them all. His ability to capture the mood of society with brutal honesty and irreverence seems endless and brilliant wherever he goes.

That's all for now. Here's hoping he stays in the States for a while and keeps on tagging along. Would like to see him start showing up in metro areas like Atlanta, Milwaukee, Dallas, heck, why not Arizona? I'm sure he'd have a lot to say there.

AREN'T WE ALL JAY-Z, AREN'T WE ALL

I didn't get into the Blueprint 3 until this week. Partly out of trepidation and partly because of nightmare of Kingdomcom. But I will say, this is some good stuff. And this track here is a pure banger.

BROOKLYN'S FIGHT AGAINST GENTRIFICATION

Street artist Specter takes a traditional advertising route, the city billboard, and uses it as a shock and awe campaign to remind the yuppies that, well, they're gentrification is not welcome in Brooklyn, NY.

In a city where money is power, and property is more precious than blood diamonds, Specter may be fighting a losing battle, but at least he's not letting Jay-Z's home turf go down like a failed drug deal. Exhibit opens February 4th, 2010 and runs through May 10th at MoCADA @ 80 Hanson Place
