Impossible just left the building. Sharpie, the masters of the permanent marker, has invented the first pencil that turns permanent after three days. They're calling it the Liquid Pencil, and it is built with the power to erase like a pencil before those three days are up. If this actually works unlike erasable pens (is there one that even works?), this will be great for sketches, comps, notes and all the paper you wasted in the past because of mistakes. Scheduled for release in September. via: Gizmodo

STUDENTS BREATHE LIFE BACK INTO HP WITH "HIT PRINT"
HP hasn't had much buzz lately. It's been about 5 years since they were hyping their printers for digital pictures with catchy songs about pictures playing in the background. Not trying to downplay those, they were awesome. But these videos —the first originally created by London students, Matt Robinson and Tom Wrigglesworth— for an HP Student competition are cool if anything for the clever use of flip-book animation. The paper was fed in real time and the footage was then sped up in post production to create the animation. HP was so impressed, they brought them back for a sequel. I'm looking forward to seeing this on the bigscreen. via: The Jailbreak

YOU GOT SEIZED: APPLE GOES GANGSTER
Gizmodo writer, Jason Chen, had his home searched and laptops and harddrives seized via warrant the other day. A little over the top are we, Mr. Jobs? I know your products are awesome, I'm typing on one of them, but I still think this is a publicity stunt to build up free press and buzz. It's definitely not hurting future sales, that's for sure. AAPL stock is riding an all time high and is up 3% today alone. That's a pretty good return on protecting your investments. If only wise fools like myself were smart enough to invest say, 6 years ago, when the iPod was just getting hot.

BATTLE QUEST: DIGITAL EMPIRE
Gizmodo has put together this map to figure out who's winning the battle to control the money train. Is this the modern day gold rush or another bubble? It appears we're in for an explosion of growth and a resurrection of the ad and publishing industries. It will be interesting to see how much of a stake these companies end up with. OCTO PIRATE
When an Octopus sneak attacks a scuba diver, this eight legged sea monster snatches the camera and shoots his own under sea adventure. The play-by-play of the diver's ensuing chase to retrieve his camera is priceless, hilarious and intense.
