KRAFT MAC & TWEESE

Yesterday, a flurry of new Mac & Cheese work started appearing on the internet. Each ad was inspired by a random person's Tweet about Mac & Cheese, then turned into a :30 second commercial. All shot and edited on the spot and released to the public to consume. Great use of Twitter and turning a simple tweet into something larger than 140 characters could have ever imagined.

And on top of that, my good friend—and very funny human being—Kent Carmichael made these. He's a copywriter and a great person to have on your kickball team or dodge ball team, apparently.  He's also a big UK Wildcats (Final Four bound) fan, so he's got a lot going for him right now. Way to go Kent!

FAVRE GETS THE 'WHAT SHOULD I DO?' TREATMENT

Hilarious spoof of the LeBron Nike ad. Favre, you know what you should do. You should stop while you're legacy is still somewhat intact. Oh, and 'Go Bears' people. All you cheese heads up in Wisconsin are just nachos waiting to be eaten Sunday.Via: Jesse B

COD: BLACK OPS FEEDS YOUR INNER SOLDIER

Saw the abbreviated version of this great piece of advertising for Call of Duty: Black Ops during MNF last night. The full version is below. It's amazing what simple and great thinking can create. Of course, it doesn't hurt when you have one of the best ad agencies, Chiat, at the helm. Via: Brands Are Opinions

DIESEL'S STUPID ASS-KICKING SNEAKERS...IN BE STUPID 3D

Going full throttle in stupid behavior, Diesel's Be Stupid campaign marches on with a shoe made for stirring up trouble. Put their ass-kicking techniques to good use, but don't be too stupid, choose your targets wisely. Now go dig up those red and blue glasses of yours, and learn all the rules on how to kick someone's ass...literally. You can thank Diesel later. Unless you're the one getting your ass kicked. CONAN GOES SOAPY FOR TBS PROMO

November 8, 2010 is not that far away. And these Conan promos go full on to show the effect his absence from late night is having on both him and his viewers. The layover is almost over. Get amp'd for a more Coco Conan only the cable stratosphere can provide. Via: adfreak

TEXTEES OR GLOVES FOR YOUR THUMBS.

Saw this on MTv of all places late last night. Last I checked, texting wasn't such an issue that I needed a typing condom. But the low budget commercial is nothing short of awesomely horrible with its catchy 'Get a Textee' anthem.  I can't wait to see your fat thumbs with these things on.

EPIC HALO REACH TRAILER

I've never felt the emotions for simulated intergalactic battle like the ones I do for this intense live action trailer directed by Noam Murro. Hopefully Halo Reach lives up to the expectations. Via: Adfreak

CARLTON DRAUGHT GOES INTO SLOW-MO OVERDRIVE

The opera lyrics really tie the spot together. via: adfreak

Slow motion, men in slow motion
Men look much better in slow motion
It makes me want to sing quite loud
Now, now, I want a Carlton Draught, chips and lasagna
Men in slow mo…in slow mo…
Slow motion
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah…
Slow motion.

TODAY IN WEIRD: RUBIX CUBE HEAD

This ad by Chi & Partners for British beverage, Drench, is pretty bizarre. But it kept my attention and the payoff 'brains perform better hydrated,' is a smart sell.  Previous Drench ads, especially the fish one below, are awesomely entertaining as well. via: Buzzfeed

KENNY "K-SWISS" POWERS

Sometimes, a forgotten brand will live forgotten no more. By hiring fictional blowhard —and washed up flamethrower— Kenny Fucking Powers to endorse the K-Swiss Tubes running shoe, K-Swiss is putting their balls on the table and upping the ante in the athletic shoe category. Shoes look good to boot. The only people I know who wore K-Swiss shoes was my brother in high school and probably some 90210 character.

Don't call it a comeback? If K-Swiss endorses Kenny throughout this season of Eastbound And Down, press releases included, this may take the prize for best use of a fictional character in an ad campaign. Great work, 72 and Sunny. via: FOD and Creativity

STUDENTS BREATHE LIFE BACK INTO HP WITH "HIT PRINT"

HP hasn't had much buzz lately. It's been about 5 years since they were hyping their printers for digital pictures with catchy songs about pictures playing in the background. Not trying to downplay those, they were awesome. But these videos —the first originally created by London students, Matt Robinson and Tom Wrigglesworth— for an HP Student competition are cool if anything for the clever use of flip-book animation. The paper was fed in real time and the footage was then sped up in post production to create the animation. HP was so impressed, they brought them back for a sequel. I'm looking forward to seeing this on the bigscreen. via: The Jailbreak

EARL & TIGER: MASTERS IN DISGUISE

Nike is breaking an ad tonight that will get sports fans talking. Nike has the uncanny ability of invoking a level of talk value most brands never come close to achieving. For reference, look at pretty much any ad they've ever done. Armstrong, Jordan, L.T., Lebron, Kobe, etc. This time, however, it seems we'll be talking about what isn't said than what is said. Do we smell a sequel, or just a long drive towards redemption? R.I.P. Earl Woods

AUDI, WHO SIGNED OFF ON THIS ONE?

This makes the VW suicide ads from a couple years back look innocent.  If there was ever a time to advocate suicide in advertising, don't use your consumer as the one trying to off himself in your car! You know, the one you're trying to sell. Sorry to be Mr. Literal, but are you saying your target market is suicidal? Audi ironically happens to be the one car I wish to some day own. Looks like I'll have kiled myself before I can afford one.
